September Athletes Of The Month

By Grant Lewis | Oct 7, 2024 2:53 PM

Congratulations to our September Athletes of the Month! Each Athlete was selected by their Head Coach based upon their performance and/or leadership during the month of September! Volleyball- Abby broke the 1000 career kills record and the school record for career kills in back to back matches. Tennis- Ryan leads the team in wins this year while player #1 singles for the Boy's Tennis Team. Ryan is a great leader on and off the tennis court and exemplifies what it is to be a Flash. Girls Soccer- Rhyley is a constant threat to opposition defenses that never stops working. Throughout this season she has tallied 12 goals and 8 assists as a freshman. Each day she plays she becomes a better player. Her effort shows in the games and on the stat sheet. Girls XC- Nat has been a consistent performer all season. She has now earned All-County and All-Conference honors. She continues to be a great addition to the team and has stepped right into a contributing role on a highly-ranked team in the state. Boys XC- Justin has been our top performer in 2 of our 4 meets and has been the most consistent. He gives the team much needed firepower as a frontrunner. Cheer- Lexie is not only an exceptional cheerleader on the varsity team, but coaches her own youth league team of franklin township 4th graders. She is also the National Honor Society President and was Indy Star's Student of the Week. Lexie has an infectious positive attitude despite dealing with her own challenges. She is kind and encouraging to her teammates and a role model on her team and in school. Football- Avery has been our offensive player of the week twice, but the best part about Avery is he is an outstanding teammate. He is always highly coachable and supportive of his teammates. He shows up every day with a great attitude and makes the program better each day with great effort and dedication. Golf- As a sophomore Maren made All-County by improving her personal best score by 12 shots. Her score ended up leading us to a Marion County Championship as a team. This is achieved by her everyday mindset of getting better. Unified Football- Ella is an excellent leader on and off the field Boys Soccer- As one of the best goalkeepers in all of Indiana high school soccer, Isaac has been the consummate leader of the boys soccer program on and off the field this season. He is currently second in save in the HCC, and he has one of the best GAA in the state of any starting GK who plays significant minutes.
