September Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to our September Athletes of the Month! Girls Golf- Madi Yeoman- Led the team in Stroke Avg as a freshman. Was the low individual for the team at Sectionals. Football- Zeke Draher- A great leader on and off the field! Shows up every day with great attitude and will do whatever it takes to be a positive part of the process Boys Tennis- Malachai Hornbrook- Malachai has stepped up as a leader on the team during his Senior year. He clinched the deciding point in the 2nd round of the Marion County Tournament by defeating his opponent in the 3rd set after falling behind 3-0 to start the 3rd set. His victory gave the Flashes a 3-2 victory over Pike and enabled the team to advance to the next round. Boys XC- Jason Decker - Jason has taken our team from a top-15 team to a top-10 contender thanks to his outstanding improvement as a top-5 runner for us. Girls XC- Makenna Bowling - Makenna has emerged as one of the best runners in Indiana. She has broken the 19:00 barrier and continues to improve. She could very well be a top-50 finisher in the state of Indiana. Unified Football- Jackson Quinn- plays center for us, scoring multiple touchdowns, showing excellent leadership, great teammate, embodies the spirit of unified Boys Soccer- Alex Morales, GK - surpassed 100 Saves for the season (currently at 118) and made key saves to win games in our 9-game unbeaten streak (and 10 of the last 11) Cheer- Addison Williams - Addison always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is full of energy and sets a great example for the underclassmen in the program. Volleyball- Brenna Storz, Senior Middle Blocker -Brenna broke the school record for hitting percentage in a match with 0.917 against Southport posting 11 kills and zero errors. She was also errorless in a conference win against Fishers, posting 12 kills. On senior night against New Palestine, she set a career high 15 kills with only 1 error. She has tallied 72 kills, 21 aces, 35 blocks and 18 digs in the month of September. Her season hitting percentage of 0.483 is good for second in the conference and fourth in the state. She is on pace to break the school record for hitting percentage in a season. Girls Soccer- Michaela We have chosen Michaela due to her quality performance in JV matches. From those performances we have put her on the varsity team and is now a starter. She played the full 80 minutes last night and fit in like a glove. From her dedication and attitude, it helped her earn a spot on the varsity team making a real impact.
