The Lady Flashes Track & Field squad picked up some hardware Saturday as they hosted and WON the Marion County Freshman Championships by 3 points over track powerhouse North Central. Makenna Bowling and Corinne McDermott go 1-2 in the 1600 breaking 5:30 as Bowling was our lone individual Freshman County CHAMP. Runner-Up honors in the 4x8 went to the squad of Macie Oden, Michaela He, Ella Barker, and McKenna VanVleet! Also finishing 2nd was the 4x400 relay squad that secured the dub consisting of Nyla McCarthy, Rhyley Rogers, Makenna Bowling, and Corinne McDermott. In the 400, Nyla McCarthy was Frosh County Runner-Up with a new PR of 1:01.50, and Nyla was also 3rd in the 200 with a new PR of 27.10! McKenna VanVleet and Addie Weatherford went 2-3 in the 3200 to score very valuable points, as well as Macie Oden and Scarlett Underwood finishing 2nd and 4th in the pole vault! Shoutout to the 4x100 crew of A’lonna Mitchell, Journii White, Ramiah Guyse, and Chloe Elliot for their 4th place finish! Elliott and Guyse went 4-5 in the 100 as well with new PRs! So proud of this group of athletes, coaches, and teammates that made our freshmen feel like superstars Saturday!
