The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams brought home TWO Sectional Championship trophies from Mt. Vernon on Saturday. Girls were led by a 1-2-3-4 finish started by individual CHAMP Savana Miller, Kylie Cline in 2nd, Kaitlyn Pettet in 3rd, and Dakota Miller 4th. Camryn Simons rounded out the scoring in 7th place to tally 17 points, just 2 points shy of a perfect score. On the Boys side, the Flashes won comfortably despite two key runner sitting out and their top 2 runners taking a fall during the middle stage of the race. Brayden Henkle would get back up to finish 2nd and Evan Farmer would go on to finish 3rd overall. Joey Ashman was 5th. Freshman Justin Reedus continued his meteoric rise and stepped up in a HUGE way to finish 8th overall. Senior Owen Lackey filled in for one of the aforementioned runners sitting out to finish 11th overall. Both squads are next in action this Saturday at Rushville for the IHSAA Regional Championships.
