On Friday (May 17th), the Flashes won their first sectional title in 22 years!! The sectional track meet was held at Greenfield Central, but was delayed on Thursday night after just a handful of races due to timing issues. The next night (Friday May 17th) the Flashes would return to finish 10 of the remaining 16 events. When the meet began Friday, the Flashes were tied with Greenfield Central, with Warren right behind in 3rd place. When the meet ended Friday, the Flashes advantage was 46.5 points- a HUGE win for the boys and a sectional championship. Sectional Champions were- the 4x800 (Leal, Reedus, Farmer, Ashman), Joey Ashman in the 800 (rebreaking his school record and running 1:53.81, Damir Swanigan in long jump (22’ 9.75”), and the 4x400 (Moritz, Clerger, Weaver, Ashman). Ivan Weaver was a 4-time sectional champion, earning first place in every event he participated in: 1st in pole vault (14-0), 1st in the 400 (49.28), 1st in the 200 (21.99), and also a member of the first place 4x400 (3:19.72). Excellent job Flashes!!
