Varsity vs Columbus East (4 - 3) Win A night that began with JV and the C team playing on adjacent fields simultaneously, ended with a magical comeback victory against the Olympians. JV and C team won 5-0 and 3-2 respectively. After that, Varsity began their dominant performance. Columbus East was not allowed to touch the ball much, and they only scored their first two goals on set pieces after tough foul calls. Harman scored the first goal in spectacular fashion on a glorious cross from Ivan Weaver. After being down 2-1, the Flashes rallied to go up 3-2 with just minutes left with goals from Joshua Antunez and Kizong Leng. With 40 seconds left, the Olympians equalized to make it 3-3. The Flashes quickly got the ball into the opponent's box and earned a foul with just 21 seconds left. Cameron Jones insisted on taking the penalty kick, and he used a cheeky stutter step technique before hitting the left post, slotting in the game winning goal. The amazing and enthusiastic supporters section and players celebrated in the corner of the field. Seconds later, it was over and everyone celebrated on the field after a hard fought victory. Next for the Flashes is the state tournament that begins with Sectionals in Columbus next week!
