Franklin Central High School Athletics

The Lady Flashes Track squad had a phenomenal night at Brownsburg High School Wednesday night as they finished 4th overall in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Indoor Championships. Top performers were the 4x800 Relay team of Makenna Bowling, Kaitlyn Pettet, Camryn Simons, and Natalie Vandesteene took runner-up honors posting the 4th fastest time in the state of Indiana currently. Sophomore Akua Sackey continued her onslaught through the sprint record books as she set another SCHOOL RECORD for the indoor 60m dash running 7.75. Her time is currently the 7th fastest in the state. The 4x200 Relay team of Sackey, Nyla McCarthy, Ava O'Brien, and Jadyn Bush finished 3rd overall posting the 11th fastest time in Indiana in the process. Junior Shelby Lambrecht uncorked a 4th place shotput throw of nearly 38 feet and sits #17 in Indiana right now. Finally the Distance Medley Relay crew of Kaitlyn Pettet, Addison Weatherford, Camyrn Simons, and Makenna Bowling rallied late to finish runner-up putting them #7 in Indiana currently. The DMR was anchored by a 5:13 Mile from Bowling, which was her 2nd PR of the night. Next up for the ladies is the Fall Creek Invite at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds next Tuesday and Thursday and then the Hoosier State Relays at the same venue on Saturday, March 28th!
